Krauthammer hails the wrong Bush

-

Re: May 23 commentary, “Krauthammer: You want hypotheticals? Here’s one.”

Charles Krautham- mer’s column shows his historical knowledge begins in 2008. In his view, Bush bequeathed a war we had won to Obama and Obama squandered it.

The entire world was horrified at the events of 9/11. Once we knew Osama bin Laden was responsible, we had virtually every country’s backing to go after him in Afghanistan. Then, Bush decided to invade Iraq and eliminate Saddam Hussein on the pretext of searching for weapons of mass destruction.

Here is some more history for Mr. Krauthammer: After the first Gulf War, his father — the intelligent President Bush — was asked why he didn’t have our troops go to Baghdad and remove Saddam Hussein. His answer was because Saddam is holding Iraq together and without him Iraq would fall apart due to sectarian violence.
