Travis County authorities will resume the search Saturday for a teenage girl who was reported missing Thursday on Lake Travis.

Divers searched for the girl for a second day Friday but were unable to find her.

Authorities called off the search around 7 p.m., Travis County sheriff ’s office spokeswoman Lisa Block said.

About 11 a.m. Thursday, medics received a call saying the girl fell off the back of a boat and disappeared about a mile from VIP Marina Lake Travis, Block said.

Poor visibility hindered initial efforts to find her.

A group of divers continued the search until around 5:50 p.m. Thursday, officials said.

In a Facebook post Thursday, Brad Thomas, lead pastor at Austin Ridge Bible Church, said the girl was attending the church’s wakeboard camp.

“We are asking that you join us in praying for the family in their tragic loss. In addition, please pray for the search and recovery effort. Lastly, please also pray for all the students, staff, and volunteers involved in wakeboard camp as we walk through this with them,” Thomas wrote.

The Eanes Independent School District said in an email to parents that it will be offering counseling services to help students who may know the missing girl.

“We know that Eanes is a small community and that many children know each other through activities both inside and outside of school, through participation in camps, church and youth sports,” Tom Leonard, the district’s superintendent, wrote in the email.

The counselors will be available Friday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the ninth-grade center at Westlake High School, the email said.

Authorities have not released the girl’s name.
