Ex-Green Bay Packers wide receiver Adrian Coxson is retiring after a severe concussion suffered during the third practice of training camp continues to produce symptoms. Coxson, 24, said he spoke with multiple doctors and specialists who recommended he retire.

“I’m more concerned about my health right now,” Coxson said. “They said it’s a Grade 3 concussion.” Coxson, who played college football at Stony Brook, dropped out of practice Aug. 1 after experiencing dizziness. He was taken to a hospital, and further tests the following day led to the diagnosis of a concussion.

Giants: Jason PierrePaul had his first face-toface meeting with team officials since he injured his right hand in a fireworks mishap July 4. Pierre-Paul was examined by the team’s medical staff before stopping by the Giants facility to meet briefly with members of the coaching staff and front office.

Jets: Geno Smith says he has no plans to file charges against ex-teammate Ikemefuna Enemkpali, the linebacker who broke the quarterback’s jaw with a punch last month. The Bills re-signed Enemkpali to their practice squad Monday, three days after his release from the active roster.

Chiefs: Pro Bowl defensive tackle Dontari Poe and offensive tackle Eric Fisher could return for the season opener Sunday in Houston, the team said.

Browns: Backup quarterback Johnny Manziel threw passes in practice for the first time since Aug. 23 after being slowed by a sore right elbow. Manziel appears on track for Sunday’s season opener against the Jets.

■ Offensive line coach Andy Moeller was suspended indefinitely for an unspecified incident.
