“The Leftovers” filmed scenes throughout the Austin area. Here are some spots viewers might recognize:
PEDERNALES FALLS STATE PARK, NEAR JOHNSON CITY MCKINNEY FALLS STATE PARK, AUSTIN
Both parks were used to film the second season’s daring, dialogue-free opening scene, which depicted a cavewoman giving birth and then dying from injuries and exposure, and appear throughout the season.
THE AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN, 305 S. CONGRESS AVE., AUSTIN
Lead actors Carrie Coon and Justin Theroux filmed scenes in the newspaper building, where one cubiclefilled floor was transformed into a state adoption agency.
RICHARD MOYA PARK, 10001 BURLESON ROAD, AUSTIN
The Onion Creek park’s famous bridge, known as Old Moore’s Crossing, stands in for the show’s entrance to Miracle State Park.
LOCKHART TOWN SQUARE
The courthouse and surrounding storefront represent fictional downtown Jarden (aka “Miracle”), Texas.
SMITTY’S MARKET, 208 S. COMMERCE ST., LOCKHART
Interior restaurant scenes were filmed at the barbecue joint.
PRAIRIE LEA STREET, LOCKHART
The adjacent Garvey and Murphy houses are located at 420 W. and 426 W., respectively.
