More than 50 shops and restaurants will open Friday in Domain Northside, the North Austin mixeduse project’s third and final phase.

Nordstrom is among the businesses debuting, with festivities that include a two-hour “beauty bash” running from 8 to 10 a.m., when the store officially opens.

The Nordstrom store will be Austin’s second, joining one at Barton Creek Square.

The 127,500-square-foot store features the Seattle-based retailer’s latest design concepts and includes a coffee shop and restaurant.

About 300 employees were hired to staff the Domain Northside location, Nordstrom said.

Nordstrom is one of Domain Northside anchor tenants, joining RH Austin, a new concept from Restoration Hardware.

RH Austin opened Sept. 16. The 43-acre, 600,000-square-foot project, which also includes residential and office components, as well as a 171-room boutique Archer hotel, is being developed by Austin-based Endeavor Real Estate Group.

“We are excited about opening Domain Northside to Austin and the larger Central Texas community,” Endeavor principal Ben Bufkin said. “We believe the mix of best-in-class local businesses, top

national brands and retailers mixed with hotel, office, residential and public art will become something that our city is proud of.”

Many of the businesses that have signed on are locally owned, including several in Domain Northside’s Rock Rose entertainment district, such as East Side King, Salvation Pizza, The Dogwood, Lavaca Street Bar and Kung Fu Saloon.

“It is rare to have the opportunity to bring together so many community stakeholders to expand the Austin brand in such a significant way,” Bufkin said. “Our community should be proud of its hard work and enjoy the finished product. This is just the beginning of the story for this new part of our community. The best is yet to come.”

After Friday’s grand opening celebrations at many shops and restaurants, the festivities continue through the weekend, including on Saturday, when several musicians are set to play on the Domain Northside lawn at Palm Way and Rock Rose. Performers booked throughout the day include Mayeux & Broussard, Tje Austin, 80H Project and headliner Tameca Jones.

SoulCycle, an indoor cycling studio, is among the tenants opening their doors this weekend. It’ll be the company’s first Austin location.

“We are thrilled to open our studio doors in Austin,” said Gabby Etrog Cohen, SoulCycle’s senior vice president of brand strategy and public relations. “SoulCycle always looks for dynamic and vibrant communities, and the energy in Austin has been incredible.”
