Austin-area gas prices steady at $1.95 this week

Austin-area gas prices held steady this week, according to auto club AAA Texas.

The average local price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was unchanged at $1.95, AAA Texas said. The average price also declined by 2 cents in the previous week, according to AAA data.

The current average of $1.95 per gallon is 14 cents lower than the same week last year, when the average price was $2.09, according to AAA Texas.

For Texas as a whole, the average price per gallon rose 2 cents this week to $1.97, according to AAA Texas. Nationally, the average price

per gallon was unchanged at $2.21.
