Europe will send out Rose, Stenson to face ex-Longhorn, partner Reed.

Europe is sending out some heavy metal to start the Ryder Cup Justin Rose and his Olympic gold medal with Henrik Stenson and his silver claret jug as British Open champion.

They’ll face former Longhorn Justin Spieth and Patrick Reed of the United States on Friday morning.

European captain Darren Clarke put his strongest partnership in the opening foursomes match at Hazeltine National Golf Club. Rose and Stenson won all three of their matches together at Gleneagles two years ago.
