Celebrate the luck o’ the Irish at parties for St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day may have its roots in Christiani­ty, but modern society has turned it into a celebratio­n of Irish roots, green beer, green clothes and well, green everything. Here are some of the places where you can celebrate in Austin. St. Patrick’s Day at Fado Irish Pub. Celebrate at Austin’s biggest St. Patrick’s Day party.Itstartsat­11a.m.,and tickets are $15. Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant, 214 W. Fourth St. Scoot x St. Paddy’s. Check out live music at the Scoot Inn with Low Cut Connie, Night Drive, Manatee Commune, Sweet Crude, Black Eyed Vermillion and more. The party starts at noon, but arrive early (it is South by Southwest, after all). Historic Scoot Inn, 1308 E. Fourth St. Irish I was in Bastrop St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl. Food and drink at five locations in Bastrop, including sampling traditiona­l Irish drinks. Tickets are $25 per person, and the crawl starts at 7 p.m. Downtown Bastrop, bastropdow­ntown.com St Patrick’s Day at Jack and Ginger’s. Green beer, beer cheese, Shepherd’s Pie and more.
