College hockey: The defending national champion University of North Dakota men’s hockey team will face Boston University in the West Regional of the NCAA Tournament in Fargo at 2 p.m. on Friday. The other semifinal will pit top-seeded Minnesota against No. 4 Ohio State. The regional winner advances to the Frozen Four in Chicago in early April.

College basketball: Will Wade is leaving Virginia Commonwealth to take over LSU after guiding the Rams to the NCAA Tournament in his two seasons as coach. He replaces Johnny Jones. Rice coach Mike Rhoades is returning to VCU to become the Rams’ head coach. He previously had served as an assistant there.

Running: Meb Keflezighi, who was a silver medalist in the 2004 Olympics and won the 2013 Boston Marathon, will retire after the New York City Marathon in the fall. He won that race in 2009.
