The Austin Huns, hustling for ways to bring their game to a wider audience, announced a partnership Wednesday with FloSports to live stream their remaining six matches.

Austin-based FloSports is an innovator in live digital sports and original content. It currently shows about a dozen sports and other athletic activities, from gymnastics to wrestling to volleyball. The Huns will be the first team featured on FloRugby.com.

“Even though we are a traditional sport, our core audience is millennials, and we need to keep up with their viewing needs and habits,” Huns general manager Thierry Daupin said. “Joining forces with FloSports and FloRugby puts us two steps ahead of the competition.

“We need to think about where we will be in five, 10 years. Ninety-nine percent of our potential audience is outside of the stadium, and we want to provide them with the best options to stay connected with us.”

Matches will be streamed at www.florugby.com or through Roku or Apple TV, starting with Saturday’s game against Rugby Utah at Nixon Field, 4107 Nixon Lane.

“Partnering with the Austin Huns is a great first step for FloRugby,” FloSports senior vice president Phil Wendler said in a statement. “We’re excited to deliver Huns rugby live across the globe as we move forward to unlock a world of unmatched coverage created for die-hard rugby fans.”

College tournament: The Huns will host an all-day rugby festival Saturday, with the Red River Collegiate Conference championship wrapped around their match against Utah. The eight-team collegiate event kicks off with Texas vs. Arkansas at 9 a.m. and concludes with LSU-Baylor at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $10.
