Austin wins 3rd straight

Four Austin Spurs scored at least 18 points as the team won its third in a row by de­feat­ing the North­ern Ari­zona Suns 114-101 in Prescott Val­ley, Ariz., on Wed­nes­day night.

Charles Gar­cia scored 21 and Or­lando John­son added 20 to help Austin (25-24) keep the win­ning streak alive.

Jeff Led­bet­ter had 19 points, in­clud­ing 4 for 5 from 3-point range, as the Spurs con­nected on 50 per­cent of their lon­grange shots. Austin fin­ished 13 of 26 from be­yond the arc.

Pa­tri­cio Garino had the best night from be­yond the arc, con­nect­ing on all four of his at­tempts. He fin­ished with 18 points on 6-of-9 shoot­ing.

Josh Gray of North­ern Ari­zona led all scor­ers with 24 points. He added five re­bounds and five as­sists.

Eli­jah Mill­sap had 22 points and seven re­bounds for the Suns.

Austin took a three-point lead af­ter the first quar­ter, but it was a strong sec­ond quar­ter that helped it take con­trol.

The Spurs outscored the Suns 30-19 in the sec­ond to take a 14-point lead into half- time.

The Suns (22-27) cut the lead to eight by the be­gin- ning of the fourth quar­ter.

Ryan Ar­cidi­a­cono had 10 re­bounds as the Spurs out­re­bounded the Suns 50-36.

Al­ready elim­i­nated from play­off con­tention, the Spurs will try to end the reg­u­lar sea­son with a win­ning record as t hey h ost S ioux Falls at 7 p.m. Satur­day.
