Washington Nationals third baseman Anthony Rendon went a career-best 6 for 6 with three home runs and a club record 10 RBIs in Sunday’s 23-5 rout of the Mets.

Rendon, who also scored five times, became the 13th player in major league history to drive in 10 or more runs in a game — the first since Garret Anderson did it for the Angels in 2007.

“I may have had three home runs in high school,” Rendon said, “but never like that with the RBIs.”

After a two-run single in the first, Rendon hit a solo homer in the third and a three-run homer in the fourth. He added a threerun double in the fifth and nearly had another RBI when he singled in the seventh, but teammate Daniel Murphy held up at third base.

Rendon then hit a solo homer in the eighth.

■ Center fielder Adam Eaton tore a ligament in his left knee in Friday’s game and his season is likely over, the Nationals confirmed Sunday.

Blue Jays: Aaron Sanchez, the AL ERA leader last year, left Sunday’s game after one inning with a split fingernail. The right-hander was activated off the 10-day DL before the game when a blister on his middle finger healed. While on the DL, he had part of the fingernail removed.

Mets: Noah Syndergaard left his start Sunday in the second inning with what the team called “a possible lat strain.” The right-hander will have an MRI in New York.

Athletics: Right-hander Sonny Gray (lat) will come off the disabled list and make his season debut Tuesday at Minnesota. Gray was 5-11 with a 5.69 ERA last season.

Brewers: Outfielder Ryan Braun left Sunday’s game after the sixth inning because of arm soreness and tightness in his right trapezius, a large muscle that extends from the shoulder into the upper back.

Pirates: Catcher Francisco Cervelli sat out Sunday’s game with a sore right foot. Catcher John Bormann was called up from Single-A Bradenton.

Rangers: Infielder Pete Kozma, 29, was claimed off waivers from the Yankees and will be added to the 25-man roster.

Cardinals: St. Louis has had three home games postponed due to rain, its most ever in April.

Astros: Outfielder Jake Marisnick, on the 7-day concussion list, will be activated today, and outfielder Tony Kemp will be sent to Triple-A Fresno.
