Bitfusion raises $5M, unveils Flex platform
New product in beta testing could speed development of AI apps.
Austin-based tech company Bitfusion has raised $5 million for expansion and is unveiling its new deep learning and artificial intelligence platform.
Bitfusion is developing technology that promises to boost application performance by orders of magnitude without the need for a rewrite or specialized skills.
Its platform, Flex, which is currently in beta testing, enables data scientists to simplify the deployment of deep learning applications throughout the development process.
When building artificial intelligence applications, data scientists often must waste a lot of time on the front end building tools and processes to go from development to deployment.
“By providing a comprehensive end-to-end solution focused on AI, we’re enabling companies to leverage these efficient architectures with very little effort,” said Subbu Rama, co-founder and CEO of Bitfusion. “This massively accelerates time to business value for AI initiatives.”
The company says Flex, which can be deployed into any data center or cloud, reduces the time needed to deploy AI applications from months to days, and cuts infrastructure costs in half.
Rama co-founded Bitfusion in 2015. Prior to Bitfusion, Rama was an engineer with Dell Inc. , where he helped build the company’s entrance into cloud infrastructure.
