A Round Rock man, who shared red carpets with Taylor Swift, drove around in Bentleys, and made his way onto the field to celebrate with the Seattle Seahawks after Super Bowl XLVIII, is on trial in U.S. District Court, charged with orchestrating multiple jewelry store heists.

Marvis Lewis, 40, is accused by local and federal investigators of recruiting another person to steal diamonds, rings and watches from multiple stores in Austin and Houston in 2014 and 2015. He was arrested in February 2016 and charged with 16 felony counts, including conspiracy to interfere with commerce by threats or violence, money laundering and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He would face a minimum of 82 years in prison if found guilty on all charges. The trial, in U.S. Judge Lee Yeakel’s court, could last up to two weeks, as prosecutors make their way through 14 robberies or attempted robberies.

But Lewis, who is defending himself in this case, told the jury he’s innocent and that he already was well-off and had little financial motivation to be involved in the thefts. His Instagram account — 02beauxta — displays photos of him hanging out at Oscar and Emmy award show parties, championship sports events and movie premieres. The A-list celebrities who agreed to selfies with Lewis include Madonna, Taylor
