Three different players hit two home runs Saturday as the Iowa Cubs took two wins, 13-4 and 5-2, over the Round Rock Express in Des Moines, Iowa.

The first game was the completion of a suspended contest from June 25. Round Rock (38-44) played as the home team, but that didn’t help: The Express gave up 17 hits.

Stephen Bruno homered twice for Iowa and finished the game 4-for-5 with two runs scored and six RBIs.

The Express led 2-0 until the Cubs (38-44) put up five runs in the fourth inning. Along with Bruno’s first homer, Chris Dominguez and Jacob Hannemann had RBI singles.

Dominguez was 4-for-6 with a run scored and three RBIs. Hannemann was 3-for-6 with two runs scored and an RBI.

David Rollins (3-3) earned the win, allowing no runs on two hits through 1⅔ innings. Jaye Chapman (2-2) was hit with the loss, allowing nine runs on five hits while walking six through 3⅔ innings.

Will Middlebrooks was the highlight of Round Rock’s offense as he homered twice on the day, both times with nobody on base. Middlebrooks also doubled, going 3-for-4 in the game.

Kyle Schwarber hit two home runs and Williams Perez allowed just two hits over six innings as the Cubs beat the Express 5-2 in the seven-inning second game on Saturday.

Perez (4-7) allowed two runs while striking out eight and walking three to pick up the win.

Iowa started the scoring in the first inning when Schwarber hit a two-run home run.

After Iowa added two runs in the third, the Express cut into the deficit in the fourth inning when Brett Nicholas hit an RBI double and Middlebrooks scored on a ground out.

The Cubs tacked on another run in the fifth when Schwarber hit a solo home run.

Dominguez was 2-for-3 in the game with a double and an RBI for Iowa. Chesny Young had the other RBI for the Cubs.

Jurickson Profar and Nicholas were the only members of the Express to get hits in the game.

Jimmy Reyes (2-4) took the loss for Round Rock. He went six innings, allowing five runs and eight hits while striking out one in the Pacific Coast League game.

Pierce Johnson struck out the side for his eighth save of the season.
