Austin alcohol sales up 6% in June
$59.5M tab citywide is jump from $56.2M in same month last year.
Alcohol sales at Austin bars, restaurants and hotels jumped 6 percent in June, according to an American-Statesman analysis of state data.
Bartenders citywide poured $59.5 million worth of beer, wine and mixed drinks throughout the month, up from $56.2 million in June 2016.
Across the state, bar tabs totaled $542.6 million, up 6 percent from $511.6 million during the same month last year.
The top-selling venue, statewide, was AT&T Stadium in Arlington, where thirsty patrons downed $1.9 million worth of booze.
Austin’s top seller was the JW Marriott hotel, 110 E. Second St., with receipts totaling $919,351.94.
Next up was Circuit of the Americas, 9201 Circuit of the Americas Blvd., coming in at $609,958.96, followed by Rose Room, 11500 Rock Rose Ave., with $543,270.90.
