Austinites can help victims of Harvey by volunteering, contributing money, items

Want to help others affected by Hurricane Harvey? Here are some options:
■ American Red Cross needs volunteers to help at shelters for evacuees; call 1-800-928-4271 or visit redcross.org/volunteer. To make a $10 donation to the Red Cross, text the word REDCROSS to 90999.
■ Austin Community College and six other educational organizations have launched the Harvey HELP Fund, a crowdsourced relief fund to aid the close to 500,000 college students impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Donate at GoFundMe. com/HarveyHELPStudents.
■ Austin Diaper Bank needs donations of baby and adult diapers, wipes and diaper cream to deliver to residents staying in Austin shelters as well as evacuees elsewhere in the state. For drop-off locations or to make a financial donation, visit austindiaperbank.org.
■ Austin Disaster Relief Network has set up a Hurricane Harvey relief fund at adrn.org/give to provide gift cards, supplies for evacuees, equipment, shelter, housing and rebuilding for families most impacted.
ADRN is also collecting donations of new undergarments and new socks (but please no other types of clothing), toiletries (shampoo, soap, toothpaste), new pillows and new blankets, cleanup supplies, utility knives, inflatable mattresses, hand sanitizer, baby formula and diapers.
Donations may be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at Hope Family Thrift Store, 1122 E. 51st St., Austin.

■ Austin Ed Fund Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, coordinated by the Austin school district’s Project Help program, needs donations to provide school supplies, clothing and other support for displaced flood victims enrolling in Austin schools. Visit edbacker.com/ c/hurricane-harvey-relieffund.
■ Austin Humane Society, which is taking in animals from storm-affected areas, needs financial donations, foster homes for animals and other supplies listed on their website. Visit austinhumanesociety.org.
■ Austin Pets Alive needs financial donations and volunteers to foster dogs and cats as the facility continues to accept animals from storm-affected areas. ■ Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team accepts donations at bcltrt. org/donate to help residents recovering from natural and man-made disasters in Bastrop County.

■ Bilingual volunteers are needed to provide translation for shelter evacuees; those with knowledge of medical terminology and Asian languages are particularly needed. Visit atxne. ws/2xAY1bs.
■ Central Texas Food Bank provides food to residents recovering from natural disasters and will be delivering food to storm-affected areas. Donate at central texasfoodbank.org.
■ Central Texas Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster is a coalition of nonprofits that need volunteers and donations to help those in need. Visit central txvoad.org for information.
■ Coastal Bend Disaster Recovery Group accepts donations at bit.ly/2v KBJC1 to help with recovery and rebuilding efforts in the greater Corpus Christi and Port Aransas area.
■ Emancipet is accepting donations to provide medical care to pets in Houston. Visit emancipet.org.
■ Greater Houston Community Foundation has established a Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund in conjunction with Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner. Visit ghcf.org/hurricane-relief.

■ La Grange Ministerial Alliance has established the Good Shepherd Fund at lgrelief.com to help 351 families affected by the flooding of the Colorado River.
■ Michael & Susan Dell Foundation has launched a Rebuild Texas fund at rebuildtx.org.
■ Modern Rocks Gallery in Austin is auctioning off three signed photos of Houstonian Beyoncé by fashion photographer Markus Klinko, with all money going to the Red Cross. Online auction runs through 2 p.m. Saturday at modernrocksgallery.com/ hurricane-relief. Starting bids are $2,500.

■ Mothers’ Milk Bank at Austin is accepting milk donations from healthy, lactating mothers to feed ill or premature infants in the storm-affected areas. Volunteers and monetary donations also needed. Visit milkbank.org/get-involved.
■ Operation Blue Santa is collecting donations of new toys, board games, playing cards, sports balls, crayons/markers/colored pencils, arts and crafts sets, coloring books, and puzzles for children displaced by Harvey. Drop off donations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the Blue Santa Warehouse, 4101 S. Industrial Drive, #260, through Sept. 15. ■ SPCA of Texas, which is taking in animals from shelters in storm-affected areas, is accepting donations at spca.org/give.

■ United Way of Williamson County is collecting donations through Sept. 15 of cleaning supplies and toiletries, but not clothing or household furnishings.
