Aronofsky joins list of SXSW speakers

Filmmaker directed ‘Black Swan,’ ‘The Wrestler,’ others.

South by Southwest on Tuesday announced another round of featured speakers as its lineup for March 2018 continues to fill out. Filmmaker Darren Aronofsky was named a keynote speaker, joining a list that already includes author Ta-Naheisi Coates, director Barry Jenkins, psychother­apist Esther Perel and Austin financial tech entreprene­ur William “whurley” Hurley.

Aronofsky is the headliner of the new list. He directed “Black Swan,” “The Wrestler,” “Noah” and “Mother,” among other films.

The tech world was represente­d in some of the featured speaker additions, which included Austin’s GSD&M co-founder Roy Spence, former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and others.

Steve Ballmer, former CEO of Microsoft, co-founder of Ballmer Group and owner of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers.

Keith Urban, musician and TV personalit­y.

Ira Glass, host and creator of radio program and podcast “This American Life.”

Roy Spence, chairman and co-founder of Austin advertisin­g agency GSD&M and author.

Lawrence Wright, writer for The New Yorker magazine and author of nine books.

Luvvie Ajayi, author, speaker and digital strategist.

W. Kamau Bell, comedian and TV personalit­y, host of “United
