Broncos lose QB Lynch to ankle injury

Cowboys release McFadden, their leading rusher in 2015.

Paxton Lynch, installed as the starting quarterbac­k for the Denver Broncos last week, suffered an ankle injury in the 21-14 loss to the Oakland Raiders and was replaced by former starter Trevor Siemian.

Lynch hurt himself while rolling out on a pass in the third quarter. He was immediatel­y ruled out for the rest of the game. He completed 9 of 14 passes for 41 yards, with an INT.

Raiders: Receiver Amari Cooper left with a concussion in the first half after being hurt on an illegal hit by Denver safety Darian Stewart.

Cowboys: Released running back Darren McFadden, who was their leading rusher two years ago.

Ejections: Dolphins cornerback Bobby McCain was thrown out of the team’s 35-17 loss to the Patriots for throwing a punch at receiver Danny Amendola. ... Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib and Raiders receiver Michael Crabtree were ejected in the first quarter for fighting as a sideline brawl broke out. Raiders guard Gabe Jackson was also ejected for his part in the fight and making contact with an official.

Bills: Steven Hauschka missed a 52-yard field goal, ending his successful streak of consecutiv­e attempts from 50 yards or longer at 13.

Chiefs: Harrison Butker’s 45-yard field goal gave him a franchise-record 23 in a row. His only miss this season was his first attempt after joining the team from the Panthers’ practice squad.

Rams: Linebacker Connor Barwin was ruled out with an arm injury shortly after halftime of the win over the Saints.

Panthers: Tight end Greg Olsen, who returned after being out more than eight weeks with a broken foot, reaggravat­ed the injury.

Browns: Quarterbac­k DeShone Kizer was evaluated for a concussion and missed one series against the Bengals.

Buccaneers: Running back Doug Martin and safety T.J. Ward were lost to concussion­s. Safety Josh Robinson (hamstring) and defensive tackle Clinton McDonald (back) also left the loss to the Falcons.

Falcons: Cornerback Desmond Trufant has a concussion. Cornerback Brian Poole suffered a lower-back injury.
