What to watch for on Day 4 of South by Southwest,

A tear-jerker, virtual gaming, tech in politics — and maybe Luke Skywalker?

The weekend is over, but South by Southwest won’t end anytime soon. Here’s some of what’s in store on Day 4.

1 “The Director and the Jedi” — a behind-the-scenes look at the production of“The Last Jedi”— shows at 11 a.m. at the Paramount Theatre.“Last Jedi”Director Rian Johnson speaks at 3:30 p.m. in Ballroom D of the Convention Center. Skywalker alert: Mark Hamill announced on Twitter that he plans to be in Austin.

2 Bring your tissues: The second-season finale of “This is Us”will screen at 3 p.m. at the Paramount, a day before it airs on NBC. The cast will speak at SXSW on Tuesday. 3 A convergenc­e keynote with Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, and Lydia Polgreen, editor-in-chief of HuffPost, will explore the role of technology in politics, particular­ly how it can help reduce inequality. (2 p.m., Austin Convention Center Ballroom D)

4 A day after the world premiere of “Ready Player One,” the film based on his novel, Austin author Ernest Cline will have a conversati­on with David Baszucki, the CEO and co-founder of virtual world gaming platform Roblox. (12:30 p.m., Convention Center Room ABCD)

5 The SXSW Music Festival opens with an eight-hour overnight concert called “Sleep” at Bass Concert Hall. It’s from musician Max Richter, whose compositio­ns have appeared in “Arrival,”“The Leftovers” and “Black Mirror,” and it starts at 11:30 p.m.
