Travis County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a 31-year-old suspected of stabbing a man to death in eastern Travis County on Wednesday night.

Adan Torres faces a charge of murder in the death of 25-year-old Jorge Louis Flores, according to an arrest affidavit filed Thursday.

The affidavit said Torres and Flores were drinking beer with other people in the 15300 block of Trumpet Drive around 11:17 p.m. when Flores said something that upset Torres.

A witness told authorities that the pair began to argue, then began to fight, the affidavit said.

The witness told deputies that it was too dark to see exactly what happened, but when the pair separated, they were both covered in blood.

The document said Flores received at least seven puncture wounds to his chest and abdomen as well as a severe laceration that left his intestines exposed.

He died in a driveway and Torres ran away, the affidavit said.

Investigators searched Torres’ brother’s apartment, and a roommate told deputies Torres had dropped in shortly before they arrived and changed clothes, but he was no longer there..

Deputies were still searching for Torres on Thursday afternoon and said they believe he might have traveled to the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on Torres’ whereabouts to call the sheriff ’s office tip line at 512-854-1444 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477.
