Northside. It’s a Kentucky Derby party for the whole family. You can watch a live broadcast of the race on the Northside lawn while enjoying music, lawn games, a fascinator station, juleps and other beverages provided by Northside restaurant Culinary Dropout, and a best-dressed competition for both men and women. Four Seasons Austin’s 8th Annual Party for the Ponies. One of the city’s longest running Kentucky Derby events returns with ace-themed décor, live music, mint juleps, a Derby hat pop-up shop, costume contests and much more. One of the most popular activities of the day is the Hatbox pop-up that will have a large selection of traditional wide brim derby hats for the ladies, high-quality fascinators, panamas and other fashionable headwear sourced from around the world. The laidback East Austin bar is taking over the J&J Spirits parking lot for a boozy bunch of festivities. There will be Kentucky bluegrass, beats by D J Dan Gentile, Maker’s Mark signature drinks and a raffle for custom Maker’s Mark gift baskets — as well as a live broadcast of “the most exciting two minutes in sports,” of course.
