Joseph, Lopes power Round Rock to 7 in a row

— Tommy Joseph and Christian Lopes each homered and drove in two runs as the Round Rock Express defeated the Omaha Storm Chasers 7-2 Thursday night at Dell Diamond.

The Express swept the fourgame Pacific Coast League series — a first this season — and extended its winning streak to seven games.

Omaha (35-43) tied the game 2-2 in the fifth as Humberto Arteaga scored on a groundout and Frank Schwindel hit an RBI single.

The Express (37-42) took the lead in the sixth inning when Tony Sanchez hit a two-run double.

Round Rock scored five runs over the sixth and seventh innings.

Cliff Pennington singled to score Hanser Alberto in the seventh before a homer by Lopes made the lead five runs.

Tayler Scott (3-2) got the win in relief, and Omaha starter Jonathan Dziedzic (3-7) took the loss.

Express starter David Hurlbut left a tie game after allowing two runs on 10 hits through 5⅔ innings.

For the Storm Chasers, Cam Gallagher doubled and singled. Arteaga singled three times.

Willie Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a run scored for Round Rock.

Joseph got the Express on the scoreboard early as he hit a two-run homer in the first inning.

Despite the seven-game winning streak, the Express remain 10 games behind firstplace Memphis in the American South division.
