Express manage split vs. Isotopes

David Dahl had a walkoff double with one out in the seventh inning as the Albuquerqu­e Isotopes beat the Round Rock Express 5-4 Thursday night in New Mexico.

Earlier in the day, the Express won a game that had been suspended Wednesday 12-5 to halt a four-game losing streak.

Raimel Tapia scored the winning run in the nightcap after he led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on a groundout.

The Express tied the game 4-4 in the top of the fifth when Franklin Rollin scored on a forceout.

Reliever D.J. Johnson (3-4) picked up the win after he struck out three over one scoreless inning. R.J. Alvarez (3-2) allowed one run and took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game.

Anthony Bemboom homered and singled, driving in three runs in the win. Dahl reached base three times.

Rollin homered and singled, scoring a pair of runs while also driving home a couple for the Express.

Earlier Thursday, Tony Sanchez homered and doubled, scoring two runs and driving home two in Round Rock’s victory.

The teams combined for 31 hits in the game.

Cliff Pennington fell a triple shy of the cycle with four RBIs and a pair of runs for the Express.

Round Rock scored in six different innings, including the second, when Christian Lopes and Pennington scored on an error and Pennington hit a two-run single.

Hunter Cole hit a home run for the Express.

Brandon Mann (4-0) got the win with three innings of scoreless relief, and Albuquerqu­e starter Peter Lambert (2-2) took the loss.

The Isotopes got contributi­ons throughout their order as six players collected at least two hits. Dahl homered and singled, with two RBIs.
