Missing Austin woman’s body found
Angela Morris’ death not suspicious at this time, police say.
Police on Sunday found the body of an Austin woman who had been missing for nearly a week.
Angela Morris, 47, was found dead at 5:52 a.m. in the woods behind a business complex on West Courtyard Drive at Loop 360 (Capital of Texas Highway), Austin police said Monday.
West Courtyard Drive is the same street where Morris and her fiancé, Andi Davies, got a second flat tire the afternoon of Aug. 20, he told the American-Statesman last week.
Police said they are not investigating Morris’ death as suspicious at this time.
Davies, who has a prosthetic leg, said he stayed behind while Morris walked off to get their lug nut key, which they had left where they had the first flat.
He did not see her reach Loop 360 because the highway was out of his line of sight, but she had told him her plan was to wash her hands inside a nearby building before heading north along Loop 360, he has said.
Morris’ family and Davies shared a statement Monday, thanking Austin police and “a supportive community who helped raise awareness of Angela’s disappearance. The family is heartbroken.”
Austin police homicide detectives said they and the Travis County medical examiner’s office are investigating the circumstances of Morris’ death, and the medical examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine her cause of death.

Davies and Morris, who had
been together for about 10 years, had car trouble on their way to an appointment, Davies has said. After getting a flat tire once on Loop 360, they got back on the road with their spare tire, but it also had a blowout soon afterward.
They pulled over onto Courtyard Drive when they realized they had left the lug nut key where they’d changed the first flat tire, Davies has said. The location was about a mile and a half away, so Morris decided she’d walk back while Davies waited for the roadside assistance they’d requested by phone, he said.
After 4½ hours of waiting, he decided to call 911, he said. Police could not immediately find her, and Davies filed a missing person report.
