Austin’s June alcohol sales up 13% over last year
Alcohol sales were up by double digits in June, according to an American-Statesman analysis of state data.
Austin bars, restaurants and hotels served $67.4 million worth of booze, up 13 percent from $59.5 million during the same month last year.
Across Texas, thirsty patrons downed $615.6 million of beer, wine and mixed drinks, a 14 percent increase compared to figures from 2017.
The top-selling venue statewide was Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros, where June bar tabs hit $2.3 million.
In Austin, the JW Marriott hotel, 110 E. Second St., ranked No. 1, coming in at $971,328.
Next on the list was the Fairmont Austin Hotel, 101 Red River St., where the final tally was $689,224, followed by Rose Room, 11500 Rock Rose Ave., with sales totaling $583,939.
