Emergency response meeting Monday
The city of Austin’s Fire and Transportation departments invite the public to attend a meeting to discuss factors to be balanced for optimal public safety and mobility from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be at the Austin Public Library Cepeda Branch, 651 N. Pleasant Valley Road.
Austin fire and transportation departments are collaborating to identify short-, medium- and longterm strategies that achieve the optimal balance of protection for fire emergency response access and multimodal transportation and safety.
The meeting will serve to educate the community on this important work, communicate strategies identified and listen to the community’s thoughts on the matter. Information from the meeting will help staff prioritize recommendations and resources.
Recommended strategies will be released in a final report in the fall and incorporated into several transportation policy initiatives underway, such as the Austin Strategic Mobility Plan and the Transportation Criteria Manual.
