SAN MARCOS — After suffering losses to two nationally-ranked opponents last week, Texas State’s volleyball team bounced back Tuesday with a straight-set win over UTSA, completing a season sweep of the Roadrunners.

The Bobcats (6-5) won each set by no more than three points — 25-22, 31-29, 25-22. Texas State beat UTSA (7-3) 3-1 on Aug. 30.

Junior setter Cheyenne Huskey paced the Bobcats with 21 kills, the most for any Sun Belt player this season. As a team they had 50 kills and a season-high hitting .356 percentage. Senior outside hitter Amy Pflughaupt added 10 kills and freshman setter Emily Dewalt had 41 assists.

Pflughaupt was named the Sun Belt’s offensive player of the week prior to Tuesday’s match; she totaled 48 kills and 25 digs in three matches last week, including an 18-kill, 15-dig performance in a 3-2 win over Rice. She had 30 kills and 10 digs in 3-0 losses to No. 6 Texas and No. 16 Kentucky.

It was the second time that Pflughaupt — the 2017 Sun Belt newcomer of the year — has earned offensive player of the week honors. She’s the third Bobcat to receive a weekly conference honor this season.

Davis honored: Soccer player Kaylee Davis was named the Sun Belt’s offensive player of the week; the forward scored a goal in a 2-1 loss to No. 18 Texas. Davis scored the first goal of the match, which was the first time that the Longhorns had trailed in a game all season.

Football kickoffs set: Kickoff times have been set for several Texas State conference games. Five of the next six games start at 6 p.m. — Saturday at South Alabama, Sept. 22 at UTSA, Oct. 6 at home vs. Louisiana-Lafayette, Oct. 20 at Louisiana-Monroe and Oct. 27 vs. New Mexico State. The Oct. 11 home game vs. Georgia Southern — a Thursday night game — kicks off at 6:30.

The final four games of season kick off in the afternoon — Nov. 3 at Georgia State (1 p.m.), Nov. 10 vs. Appalachian State (3 p.m.), Nov. 17 at Troy (2:30 p.m.) and the regular-season finale at home against Arkansas State (3 p.m.).
