9 cozy Austin restaurant­s to keep you warm this winter

With winter weather setting in this month, you may wonder where you can find some cozy restaurant­s with a warm fireplace.

Here are some places to check out on chilly days, but only if road conditions permit, of course:

Pecan Square Café

This restaurant has both an indoor and outdoor fireplace. Described as “seasonal cooking in the heart of Austin,” Pecan Square serves marinated olives, tagliatell­e, salt cod, radicchio and more.

Jeffrey’s

Jeffery’s offers French American dishes as well as wine dinners and private dining. It also has a wine club. Location: 1204 West Lynn St.

Moonshine Grill

On Sundays, customers can enjoy a brunch buffet by the fire. The dinner menu includes calamari, biscuits, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, chicken fried steak and more.

The Rustic Tap

This bar has an outdoor fireplace, and it’s also dog-friendly. Customers can enjoy sliders, burritos, tacos and booze.

Location: 613 W. Sixth St.

Simar Seafood & Steak

Simar serves a variety of dishes, such as carne arrachera, pollo asado, poke, tacos, chicharron, ceviche and oysters.

Upstairs at Caroline

The upstairs bar of Caroline in downtown Austin has a fire pit and games such as giant Jenga and corn hole. It also serves crafts on draft, local cans, wine, tacos and dips.

Geraldine’s

Geraldine’s offers live music, brunch, dinner and drinks.

Roaring Fork

Located close to the Capitol building, Roaring Fork has an indoor fireplace.

Lazarus Brewing

The upstairs area of Lazarus has a stone fireplace, where customers can work, hang out or enjoy drinks and food such as tacos, tortas, enchiladas and chips and dip.
