MINOR LEAGUE REPORT

TRIPLE-A NORFOLK

After a lengthy home run drought, first baseman Trey Mancini found his power stroke for the Tides. Mancini entered Saturday batting .447 with four home runs in his past 11 games. Mancini has 17 homers between Double-A Bowie and Norfolk. He entered the weekend tied for 10th most in the minors.

DOUBLE-A BOWIE

Crowded out of the outfield at Norfolk, outfielder Henry Urrutia has found a bit of a groove in Bowie. The 29-year-old Cuban homered while going 3-for-5 Wednesday for the Baysox, bringing his average to .301 in 36 Eastern League games. He entered Friday with seven hits in his past three games.

HIGH-A FREDERICK

Third baseman Jomar Reyes homered Thursday and Friday to give him six on the season, surpassing his 2015 total from Delmarva. The 19-year-old Dominican continues to display plus raw power but is struggling to translate his tools into games. He was batting .233/.280/.355 in 72 games entering Saturday.

LOW-A DELMARVA

Left-hander Brian Gonzalez continues to show he’s a much different pitcher in his second shot at the South Atlantic League than in his first try. Gonzalez allowed one run on three hits in six innings Thursday, lowering his ERA to 2.47 in 15 starts. Last year, Gonzalez was 4-9 with a 5.71 ERA.

SHORT-A ABERDEEN

Travis Seabrooke ,a 6-foot-6 left-hander selected in the fifth round of the 2013 draft, is off to a good start in his return to Aberdeen. Seabrooke has a 3.24 ERA in three starts, a year after posting a 4.95 ERA in 14 New York-Penn League starts.
