■ Mariners: DH Nelson Cruz hit his ninth career grand slam in the third inning and added a threerun homer in the eighth to lead the Mariners to a 14-5 victory over the Blue Jays on Saturday. It was the 20th multihomer game for Cruz, who has hit 25 home runs this season. His seven RBIs were one off the team record. 3B Kyle Seager hit a two-run homer and OF Nori Aoki had two RBIs and scored twice for the Mariners, who totaled a seasonhigh 19 hits.

■ Giants: OF Mac Williamson homered in the fifth inning and hit a tiebreakin­g single in the 12th, lifting the Giants to their first victory since the All-Star break, 2-1 over the Yankees. The Giants were 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position, dropping to 7-for-64 since the All-Star break, before Williamson’s single.

■ Rangers: LHP Cole Hamels allowed one unearned run in 5 1⁄3 innings, OF Nomar Mazara and 3B Adrian Beltre homered, and the Rangers defeated the Royals 7-4. Hamels, who is 6-1 with a 2.24 ERA in his last nine starts, limited the Royals to five hits and struck out four.

■ Astros: C Evan Gattis had two homers and four RBIs in his return, RHP Collin McHugh threw six strong innings and the Astros beat the Angels 7-2. Gattis sat out Friday’s game with a bruised right hand after being hit by a pitch Wednesday. ■ Dodgers: 1B Adrian Gonzalez hit his eighth home run, red-hot 3B Justin Turner got two more RBIs and the Dodgers ended the Cardinals’ five-game winning streak with a 7-2 victory. Turner has 14 RBIs since the All-Star break. RHP Kenta Maeda allowed only one of the Cardinals’ first 15 batters to hit the ball out of the infield.

■ Pirates: OF Gregory Polanco and 3B David Freese hit two-run singles during a five-run rally in the fifth inning and the Pirates beat the Phillies 7-4. Pirates rookie RHP Tyler Glasnow was removed from his second majorleagu­e start in the fourth inning because of discomfort in his shoulder.
