Arrieta (13-5) was 0-3 in his previous five starts and 1-4 since ending a 20-decision winning streak on June 22. He struck out four and walked one on 108 pitches. The Cubs have won six straight and 16 of 22. The A’s have lost seven of their last eight. ■ Dodgers: Newly promoted Ross Stripling (3-3) and the bullpen combined on a five-hitter in a 3-0 win over the Red Sox in Los Angeles. Adrian Gonzalez got three hits and drove in a run. Kenley Jansen earned his NLleading 33rd save. ■ Yankees: The team will hold a news conference Sunday with DH Alex Rodriguez at Yankee Stadium before the game against the Indians. Yankees GM Brian Cashman and manager Joe Girardi are expected to attend. ■ Marlins: Giancarlo Stanton set a Statcast era and Coors Field record with a 504-foot home run to center field off the Rockies’ Chad Bettis in the fifth inning. The solo shot was Stanton’s 23rd of the season. Kris Bryant of the Cubs had the record during the Statcast era with a 495-foot shot at Wrigley Field on Sept. 6 last season. Rangers OF Nomar Mazara had the previous longest homer in the majors this season with a 491-foot blast on May 25. ■ Brewers: Ryan Braun hit two three-run home runs and had seven RBIs to help ignite a 15-6 win over the D’backs in Phoenix.
