Glynn’s 18 saves help Loyola women beat Navy, 13-9

Kady Glynn made a career-high 18 saves and the visiting Loyola Maryland women (1-6, 1-0 Patriot League) won, 13-9, over Navy (5-3, 0-1). Glynn’s 18 saves were the most under ninth-year coach Jen Adams and the most for the program since the 2009 team stopped 18 in a 13-11 win over Georgetown on April 15. MORE STATE WOMEN: Carolyn Jamison (Westminste­r) and Sara Moeller (St. Paul’s) each scored a career-high six goals to help host UMBC (6-3) win, 20-6, over Duquesne (2-4). The Retrievers had two 4-0 runs in the first half. NATIONAL WOMEN: Posey Valis (McDonogh) scored a game-high six goals, and unranked Virginia (4-4, 1-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) earned a 15-5 victory over No. 10 Notre Dame (8-4, 2-1). The host Cavaliers led 10-2 at halftime. Rachel Vander Kolk (Severna Park) made seven saves for Virginia . ... Host Boston College (8-3, 1-2 ACC) took a six-goal lead in the first half and hung on for a 14-11 upset of No. 15 Louisivlle (8-3, 1-2). Kayla O’Connor had five goals for the Eagles, and Hannah Koloski had four for the Cardinals . ... Mary Rahal completed her hat trick with the gamewinner with 2:20 left in overtime to lift No. 6 Syracuse (8-2) to a 17-16 victory over Harvard (4-3) at Winter Park, Fla. Nicole Levy, Natalie Wallon and Alie Jimerson also cored three goals for the Orange . ... Mollie Stevens and Lindsey Ronbeck each scored five goals to lead No. 3 Florida (7-1, 1-0 Big East) to a 20-10 victory over host Connecticu­t (3-5, 0-1) . ...
