RANGERS: 2B Rougned Odor signed a six-year, $49.5 million contract extension, according to reports. The Rangers have not yet made an official announceme­nt, but have been working on an extension with Odor since the start of spring training. Odor, who is entering his fourth season with the Rangers, hit .271 with 33 home runs and 88 RBIs last season.

INDIANS: OF Lonnie Chisenhall will be sidelined for three days after spraining his right shoulder when he crashed into a wall during Friday’s exhibition against the Cubs. Manager Terry Francona said the medical staff described the injury as a mild sprain. “He’ll be down three days, from no activity. He will just get treatment,” Francona said. “After that third day, we’ll have a much better idea which direction that thing goes and how quickly he can come back.”

RED SOX: While there is still no timetable for LHP David Price’s return to game activity, manager John Farrell said the starter is making progress and was able to play a brief game of catch. “There was a series of strength tests done this morning in the training room, and (we) felt like he was improved to the point of initiating more throwing,” Farrell said.

CARDINALS: C Yadier Molina, back with the Cardinals following Puerto Rico’s loss to the United States in the World Baseball Classic final, put the Cardinals on the clock for offering a new contract. Molina said he is open to entering free agency if he and the team cannot reach an agreement before the April 2 season opener.

EXTRA INNINGS: Royals manager Ned Yost named LHP Danny Duffy as the team’s opening-day starter. Duffy started last season in the bullpen. … Mets RHP Jacob deGrom said he is targeting 200 innings pitched this season as he returns from an injury-shortened 2016 campaign.
