Going with the (yoga) flow

Rafting trips can get you into places where the scenery alone can provide a nearreligious experience. Holiday River Expeditions wants to expand upon that with a new series dubbed Balance and Flow Trips. “We’re just rafting and camping and hiking as we always do, but all along the way, we’re notching up mindfulness of nature’s role in our experiences,” said John Wood, co-owner and president of the company. “We look at fitness, yoga, food and more through nature’s lens.” The five trips on rivers in Utah and Colorado include one that focuses on yoga and another aimed at vegans. Wild Yoga Journey on the River with Rebecca Wildbear is offered June 5-10. It runs 84 miles into Desolation Canyon on the Green River and promises more than 60 rapids. Cost of the six-day/five-night excursion is $1,200 per person. Info on all trips is at tinyurl.com/ kuejmrb. Phil Marty is a freelancer.
