Daniel Murphy had four RBIs. In his first appearance since Aug. 28, Homer Bailey allowed eight runs on six hits with three walks in 12⁄3 innings. The Reds have lost 13 of 14. ■ Orioles: Dylan Bundy gave up three runs in seven innings but helped the Orioles avoid a dubious pitching record in an 8-3 victory over the Rays. The Orioles had given up at least five runs in 20 straight games, matching the record of the 1924 Phillies. Trey Mancini hit a tworun homer and Mark Trumbo had a two-run double. ■ Rangers: Austin Bibens-Dirkx held the Yankees to one run on five hits in seven innings of an 8-1 win. The 32-year-old rookie’s only gaffe was giving up Aaron Judge’s MLB-leading 26th home run. Carlos Gomez and Robinson Chirinos homered for the Rangers . ... LHP Martin Perez went on the DL two days after catching his right thumb in a hotel door, but LHP Cole Hamels will be activated and start Monday. ■ Mets: Jacob deGrom struck out seven in eight innings of one-run ball in a 5-2 win over the Giants. Wilmer Flores homered. The Giants have lost 11 of 12 . ... After being moved from SS to 2B, Asdrubal Cabrera asked the Mets to trade him. ■ Blue Jays: Closer Roberto Osuna said he is out of sorts mentally, feeling “anxious” and “weird.” He said he had never experienced this sensation. “I really don’t know how to explain it,” Osuna said. “I feel like I’m lost a little bit right now. This has nothing to do with me being on the field. I feel great physically. It’s just more mentally. I feel like I’m not myself right now.” Osuna has 19 saves this season and is the youngest player in history to record 75 saves. ■ Yankees: 1B Chris Carter was designated for assignment, and Tyler Austin was called up. Carter failed in his attempt to replace Greg Bird, who has been beset by injuries. LOB: Texas 5, New York 4. 2B: Choo (5), Andrus (18), Beltre (7).
