Two killed, 9-year-old girl wounded in shootings
Two people were killed and a 9-year-old girl was wounded in separate shootings Friday night and Saturday morning, Baltimore police said. A shooting Saturday morning in Northeast Baltimore left one person dead and another injured. Just before 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2900 block of Harview Ave. They found a 51-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head and a 57-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the shoulder, police said. The victims were taken to an area hospital, where the 51-year-old man was later pronounced dead. The 57-year-old man is not cooperating with investigators. Police said detectives believe the homicide may have been related to a domestic dispute. Meanwhile, a victim from a Friday shooting later died of injuries, police said Saturday. He was found with gunshot wounds in the 1100 block of Myrtle Ave. in the Upton neighborhood of West Baltimore. Police did not release the victim’s name. The 9year-old girl was shot in the foot Friday evening in Cherry Hill, an apparent victim of nearby violence, police said. Officers responded to a call in the 1000 block of Slater Road for a shooting just before 8 p.m. Friday and discovered the girl. Medics took her to an area hospital, where she was treated for a fractured foot, police said. Detectives called to the scene determined that an assailant started shooting at a man in the area when the girl was hit in the foot.
