1907 Tudor in Roland Park

5-bedroom house features an elevator, a grand dining room and a family room

A Tudor-style home in Roland Park is on the market for $625,000.

Built in 1907, the five-bedroom, 4½-bath home at 104 Oakdale Road is on a tree-lined street in one of the city’s most popular neighborhoods, said listing agent Andrea Griffin of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.

Griffin says the home has “elegant” architecture with hardwood flooring throughout. Other features include an elevator and three fireplaces — in the living room, dining room and family room.

The front door opens to a foyer and staircase leading to a second-story window, letting natural light into the house. On the first level, there is a grand dining room, living room and family room with builtins and a wall of windows. The family room was added in 1964, Griffin said, adding that the newer addition is an unusual feature for a Roland Park home.

The home also has a deck and covered porch, which can be entered through the family room.

With 0.4 acres of property, Griffin said the home is surrounded by trees and lush, green landscaping.

“When you’re on the rear of the house, you’re basically just overlooking trees pretty much as far as the eye can see,” she said. “You’re essentially perched on this piece of property, and you feel like you have complete privacy.”

On the second level, there are three bedrooms and two baths. The third level has two more bedrooms, a large bonus room and another bath. The home also includes an unfinished basement.

Since 1938, the home has been owned by two generations of the same family, Griffin said. The current owner bought the home around 1986 from his aunt and uncle.

“The current owner holds a lot of Taxes: HOA fee: Acreage: Listing agent: nostalgia around that. … It never went on the market,” Griffin said. “When he talks about his home, he nostalgically says, ‘I bought it from my aunt. It’s been in the family since 1938.’ ”

Roland Park in North Baltimore is a walkable neighborhood, Griffin said, with green spaces such as Stony Run Park. She also said the neighborhood has lots to offer, with nearby amenities such as restaurants, coffee shops and stores.
