Mount remains in chase for top seed after 74-69 victory
Junior Robinson scored 30 points, including a pair of clinching free throws as visiting Mount Saint Mary's (16-13, 10-6) rebounded from a pair of setbacks and defeated Sacred Heart, 74-69, on Saturday to remain in the running for a top seed in the upcoming Northeast Conference playoffs.
Sean Hoehn scored on a layup that pulled Sacred Heart (9-20, 4-12) to within 72-69 with nine seconds remaining but, after the final media timeout, Mount Saint Mary's inbounded to Robinson, who was fouled and sank both free throws with three seconds to play, pushing a third-straight loss out of reach. Hoehn missed a layup at the buzzer.
NAVY 62, BOSTON UNIVERSITY 48: Mo Lewis had career highs of 12 points and eight rebounds to lead the visiting Mids (19-10, 10-6 Patriot League) past the Terriers (12-15, 8-8).
Hasan Abdullah and Shawn Anderson both had 13 points for Navy, which won its fourth straight overall and sixth straight on the road. Tom Lacey also had 12 points.
BETHUNE-COOKMAN 89, COPPIN STATE 85: Brandon Tabb scored a season-high 34 points and knocked down 5 of 6 from the free-throw line in the final 17 seconds as the visiting Wildcats (15-12, 9-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) beat the Eagles (4-23, 5-8). Lucian Brownlee scored 25 points to lead Coppin State. N.C. CENTRAL 77, UMES 49: Pablo Rivas scored 15 points off the bench and the host Eagles (13-13, 7-5 MEAC) rolled past the Hawks (6-22, 2-11). Almad Frost had 18 points for UMES. JAMES MADISON 69, TOWSON 66: Zane Martin had a game-high 21 points, but the host Tigers (18-10, 8-7 Colonial Athletic Association) fell to the Dukes (9-19, 5-10).
Greg Jones made two free throws with 2:34 left in the game for a 64-62 James Madison lead.
