Vote kicks off in Putin’s bid to stay

MOSCOW — Polls opened in Russia for Sunday’s presidential election in which Vladimir Putin seeks a fourth term.

With Putin all but guaranteed to win another term despite facing seven challengers, authorities are conducting get-out-thevote efforts to ensure a good turnout. Some Russian workers say they are coming under intense pressure to prove to their employers that they have voted.
