Baltimore Homecoming Celebration

-

For Charm City Cakes owner Duff Goldman, 44, coming back to Charm City for the Baltimore Homecoming Celebration was an occasion worth getting dressed up for. The ensemble sported by the Food Network star — who now lives in Los Angeles — was his version of suit-and-tie.

“I wear shorts all winter long. I hate [long] pants. The only jeans I own are those the studio gave me. If I’m wearing jeans, it’s letting people know I’m respecting them enough to not wear shorts. And it’s a because it doesn’t happen very often,” Goldman explained.

Then, there’s the other half of his usual uniform — a T-shirt — but not just any T-shirt, as his wife, Johnna Goldman, recently pointed out.

“She said, ‘You know all your Tshirts have an animal on them.’ I think I have two plain T-shirts. It was like it’s subconscious. I love animals. I do. When there [are] animals around… it’s hard for me to carry on a conversation because I keep looking at them,” he said.

Accessories have been basically nonexistent for Goldman — he never wears a watch, and the evening’s scarf was one chosen to fit the occasion. However, he did admit that he had recently added one to his everyday accoutrements — something he’s been wearing since his wedding this past January.

“I got married when I was 44, and I’d never worn a ring before. I just didn’t want to be touching metal. So I went to a website that had wooden rings and I love it. It feels a little more natural,” he said.

HIS ENSEMBLE: A plain white T-shirt he found in Hampden. Camouflage print shirt — “I stole it from the set of ‘Kids Baking Championship’ because I don’t have anything with buttons, like nice clothes.” Black and tan fringed scarf he bought in Jerusalem. 7 For All Mankind gray jeans he’s had a while. New Balance “dirty” sneakers. Wooden wedding ring made of birdseye maple.
