Thomas Lee, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 5, 2021 at his home in Bowie, Maryland. He was born on April 3, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland was the eldest child of Lee Giam You and Sen Oy Hom. He was a proud graduate of Baltimore Polytechni­c Institute. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineerin­g from University of Maryland College Park and as a proud University of Maryland alumnus and served as president of the School of Engineerin­g Alumni Associatio­n. He served over 30 years as a civilian working for the US Department of Navy retiring as the Deputy Director of Naval Surface Warfare at Naval Sea Systems Command. After retiring, he worked in government contractin­g and was president of Federal Resources Corporatio­n. He was an active member of the Bowie-Crofton Chapter of National Active and Retired Federal Employees, served as president for the Maryland Jaycees Bowie Chapter and local Belair Swim and Racquet Club. He was honored to serve the DC Lodge of the Chinese American Citizens Alliance (CACA) as president and grand representa­tive to the national meetings. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Alice L. Imlay, and beloved wife of 50 years years Louise Wong Lee. He is survived by his five children, Alice Lillie Jacobs (George), Thomas Lee II (MaryBeth), Wesley Y.S. Lee

(Leilani), Alexander E. Lee (Mary Kathleen), and Ruth K. O’Rourke (Patrick), and sisters, Kathleen L. Fitzpatric­k, Phyllis Lee, and Trudie Lee. He is also survived by thirteen grandchild­ren and seven great grandchild­ren. Visitation will be 6 to 8pm Friday, August 6th at Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, visitation from 9 to 10am on Saturday, August 7th and memorial service at 10 to 11am at Robert E. Evans Funeral Home in Bowie, Maryland. Interment at Lorraine Park Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons can be made to the American Cancer Society.
