Bettie Garrett, 94, of Hanover, PA, died suddenly on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover, PA from heart failure.

Born Thursday, December 23, 1926 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of James and Ann Rock. She was the beloved wife of Clarence Garrett for 67 years, who passed away in 2011.

She was a woman of principal who always stayed true to her Christian faith. She was a member of Chapelgate Presbyteri­an Church when she lived in Ellicott City, and attended the First United Methodist Church in Hanover when she moved to Homewood.

Bettie loved to travel and took many wonderful trips to Europe, Egypt, China, Scandinavi­a, and the Holy Land. She also took several cruises. She loved to line dance, do crafts, make jewelry and played bingo every week.

She loved life!!! Her laugh was infectious and saw humor everywhere. The last 14 years of her life she was thankful she moved to Homewood. Her final 3 years

she lived in the assisted living facility and always said how lucky she was to be cared for by such wonderful staff.

She loved her family! Surviving are a daughter, Darlene Thomas of Taneytown, MD; a son, Mark Garrett and wife Ann of Dover, DE, grandchild­ren, Christine Tupino and Dustin Garrett, great-grandchild­ren, Adriana Tupino and Carter Garrett and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately on October 23, 2021 in Delaney Valley Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be sent to Homewood at Plum Creek Benevolent Fund, 425 Westminste­r Avenue, Hanover, PA 17331.
