Virginia “Jean” A. Nohe (nee Calafiore) of Forest Hill, MD passed away peacefully November 1, 2021, at age 83, surrounded by her daughters. She was the daughter of the late Rose

Marie (Alfonsi) Calafiore and the late George Thomas Calafiore of Baltimore. Jean graduated in 1956 from The Institute of Notre Dame in Baltimore and held executive administra­tive assistant positions at Bel Air Middle School, C. Milton Wright High School and Allied Signal (Bendix) from 1974 until her retirement in 2001. In her

prime, Jean was perpetuall­y in motion, with an array of talents and interests: quintessen­tial hostess, voracious reader, enthusiast­ic crossword puzzle solver,

competitiv­e card player, strategic Scrabble opponent and crafter extraordin­aire. Jean was a member of St. Mark Roman Catholic Church in Fallston, MD.

Jean is survived by her husband, F. Ralph; her daughters, Lisa Mitchell (Bob) of Bel Air, MD; Lauran Nohe of Rehoboth Beach, DE; Leslie Kelly (Kitty) of Bel Air, MD; and LeAnne Keane of Silver Spring, MD (Vinny of Myrtle Beach, SC); grandchild­ren Caitlan Mitchell, Shane Springer, Rian Mitchell, Tyler Keane and Abbie Springer; and great-granddaugh­ter Freya Doudna. Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Teresa (Calafiore) Grimes.

A memorial mass will be held Monday, November 15, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 2407 Laurel Brook Rd., Fallston, MD 21047.

The family will host a celebratio­n of life luncheon at a location to be announced. The family respectful­ly requests masks to be worn by unvaccinat­ed individual­s.
