San Diego, CA—It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Wayne Law Sr. shares his passing on Sunday, March 13th. After courageously battling a serious illness, he died peacefully in his sleep with his loving wife and dog, Callie, by his side. Wayne grew up in Baltimore on Miller’s Island. He was the son of Robert and Elsie Law. During his childhood he spent many hours helping his dad on the family boatyard. His love of the Chesapeake Bay extended throughout his life, and he enjoyed many weekend trips on his boat with family and friends. He attended Sparrow’s Point High School and received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Towson University. Wayne was a distinguished and beloved principal in the Baltimore area for over 40 years. Known for his kindness and dedication, he was a fierce advocate for the children, teachers, and families under his care. In 2001 he met his wife, Luanne, an emergency department nurse. They enjoyed many happy years with family, traveling and sharing their mutual love of art, music, and theatre. In 2010, they moved to San Diego, which was halfway between their Hawaii and Maryland families. Wayne loved the weather in California, and one of his favorite things was reading by the pool. Wayne was an avid sports fan, but tennis was his first love. He was active in the tennis community, known for his forehand, and willingness to play anytime, anywhere, and with anyone. He is survived by his wife Luanne, his daughter, Tiffany, his son Robert and wife Michelle, stepsons Noah and Nicholas, and grandchildren Lucas, Liam, and Rayni. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Graceland Park Elementary School, 6300 O’Donnell Street, Baltimore, MD 21224. May he rest in peace.
