WETZELBERG­ER, Ambrose

Ambrose Brian Wetzelberg­er, 57, of Nottingham, MD passed away on March 9, 2023 after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born on August 26, 1965 to the late Charles (Buck) Wetzelberg­er and Philomena (Phyllis) Wetzelberg­er. Ambrose was a graduate of Overlea High School. He owned and operated A-W Painting for over 30 years. His reputation for quality work and customer service was unmatched in the painting industry in Maryland. His work from Frederick to Ocean City has stood the test of time. Ambrose loved restoring classic hot rods. His two 1969 Chevy Chevelles were his pride and joy. He was an avid metal detector, traveling the East Coast to battlefiel­ds, beaches or anywhere potential treasures could be found. He was a collector of coins, guns, knives and stamps. An avid hunter, he enjoyed the time in the woods with his father, uncles, cousins and friends and strategizi­ng for a successful hunt. Ambrose was a mentor and friend to many. No matter the circumstan­ce, he could always be counted on to be there when needed. His friends were his family and he was a brother to them all. He was also preceded in death by his grandparen­ts, Charles and Mary (Ethel) Wetzelberg­er and Ambrose and Catherine Pennacchia, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Special thanks to Dr. Mark Levis and his team at Johns Hopkins Hospital for their care and treatment. A time of viewing and visitation will be held from 4-6pm at the Connelly Funeral Home, 7110 Sollers Point Rd, Dundalk MD. At 6pm a service will be held with Fr. Kevin officiatin­g. Interment will be at a later date.
