Resch to coach Team USA at indoor lacrosse worlds

Former Chesapeake Bayhawks assistant coach Tony Resch has been named head coach of the U.S. team for the 2015 Federation of Internatio­nal Lacrosse World Indoor Championsh­ip. Resch helped the then-Baltimore Bayhawks to the Major League Lacrosse title in 2003 and coached on league champion teams in 2012 and 2013. Adam Mueller, who played with the Baltimore Thunder of the National Lacrosse League, will be the offensive assistant coach of the U.S. squad. The championsh­ip will be held Sept. 18-26 in Onondaga Nation, N.Y., and Buffalo, N.Y. PRO BASKETBALL: Hall of Famer and former Baltimore/ Washington Bullets center Wes Unseld will be honored Sept. 29 at 7 p.m at the DC College Access Program’s Celebrity Roast and Toast Classic, hosted by media personalit­ies James Brown and Michael Wilbon, and at a breakfast and golf tournament Sept. 30. DC-CAP is a nonprofit organizati­on dedicated to encouragin­g and enabling Washington public and public charter high school students to prepare for, enroll in and graduate from college.
