Jets sign ex-Raven Pierce; Broncos add Marlon Brown

-

The New York Jets have signed running back Bernard Pierce, who ran for just 11 yards on six carries in seven games last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars after spending his first three NFL seasons with the Ravens. He ran for a career-best 532 yards as a rookie in 2012 after being a thirdround pick out of Temple. Pierce was released by the Ravens in March 2015, when he was charged with drunken driving. He was claimed off waivers by Jacksonville the next day. The NFL announced in May that Pierce will be suspended for the first two games of this season, likely stemming from the DUI arrest. MORE NFL: The Denver Broncos signed former Ravens wide receiver Marlon Brown to a oneyear deal. He began his career with the Ravens as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2013 and caught 49 passes for 524 yards and seven touchdowns, but he battled injuries the next two seasons and the Ravens waived him in May. In Denver, he’ll reunite with Gary Kubiak, the Ravens’ offensive coordinator in 2014, who left to win a Super Bowl as head coach of the Broncos last season. ... The Washington Redskins signed undrafted rookie wide receivers Kendal Thompson and T.J. Thorpe.
