Hold your nose, vote for Clinton
Letter writer Doris Rausch is justifiably angered by Monday’s revelation that the Democratic National Committee plotted to prevent Sen. Bernie Sanders from becoming the party’s presidential nominee (“Why I’m sticking with Bernie,” July 25).
But to write-in Mr. Sanders’ name on the ballot in November is to betray the cause he so passionately advanced and play directly into the hands of Donald Trump.
Sanders supporters are angry and demand change. But they must set aside their disappointment, heed Mr. Sanders himself and cast their ballots for Hillary Clinton — even if they have to hold their noses to do it.
If they don’t they aiding and abetting a Trump presidency because Ms. Clinton is now the only person standing between the American people and that horrifying prospect.
