Hold your nose, vote for Clinton

Letter writer Doris Rausch is justifiabl­y angered by Monday’s revelation that the Democratic National Committee plotted to prevent Sen. Bernie Sanders from becoming the party’s presidenti­al nominee (“Why I’m sticking with Bernie,” July 25).

But to write-in Mr. Sanders’ name on the ballot in November is to betray the cause he so passionate­ly advanced and play directly into the hands of Donald Trump.

Sanders supporters are angry and demand change. But they must set aside their disappoint­ment, heed Mr. Sanders himself and cast their ballots for Hillary Clinton — even if they have to hold their noses to do it.

If they don’t they aiding and abetting a Trump presidency because Ms. Clinton is now the only person standing between the American people and that horrifying prospect.
