Former police officer charged with sex offense

A former Baltimore County police officer who recently left the department was charged this week with a sex offense. David G. Roesler, 53, of Felton, Pa., has been charged in the county with child abuse and a fourth-degree sex offense. Roesler left the department last month after working there since 1986, police said. A man reported in July that he was sexually abused by Roesler when he was a teenager, police said. Police said the abuse began in 2000 and took place over a period of about four years. Roesler turned himself in at the Towson precinct Wednesday and was released on $50,000 bail, police said.
